The first thing I thought of when I started to play Whizzball was how similar it is to Sierra’s classic “The Incredible Machine”. Whizzball is an object-oriented puzzle game, where players solve puzzles by guiding a ball through a maze, in which the player must construct a pathway from start to finish. Players can also create and publish their own puzzles for others to play.
The game is extremely well made, and is just as visually appealing. The engine is smooth and almost seamless. I did encounter a few small bugs, but nothing that would inhibit gameplay. Most players will find that Whizzball is casually entertaining, while offering several levels of complexity.
Not surprisingly, the player-base is huge. There are thousands of puzzles already in the database, and many new ones added every day.
