If you're familiar with "Advance Wars" for the Gameboy Advance, then you'll feel right at home in Battalion: Freedom. This is essentially a clone of Advance Wars, built in flash. In Battalion players control an army which they must use to tactically outsmart their opponents, in order to gain control of the playing field.

It has a very smooth engine, with very minimal load time. The creators were also nice enough to include a tutorial on how to play. Without this the gameplay would be slightly more difficult to learn, but it is otherwise very simple in design.

When I logged on I only saw about 3 other players, which is always a deterrent. What was more disappointing is that I couldn't get any one of them to join my game, so I had to play against the AI. Needless to say the AI put me to shame.
