Gin Rummy is another card game from the same people who made the Spades game reviewed previously. It has much the same feel and features and uses the same graphic style.

The graphics and sound are good, just as they were in Spades. The load time is light to moderate, and the menus are, once again, easy to navigate. As long as you know how to play Gin Rummy, you’re all set.

Another good, stable, card game without a whole lot of fluff, but like spades it’s a little lacking in human players at the moment.

Spades is exactly what you’re expecting. Spades. In flash. It manages to throw in some decent graphics and both single and multiplayer modes. One unique feature is the ability to start a multiplayer game even when no other players are available- computer opponents will be added to the game until a human player joins in.

The interface is nice and clean and the controls and popup messages are simple and well planned. There’s nothing in this game that should give anyone the slightest bit of trouble, as long as you know how Spades is played.

Overall a pretty good, stable, version of Spades without any excess fluff to worry about or slow things down. A little skimpy on the player base for now though.

Mini-Putt Online is a fun, light, miniature golf game that manages to realistically create the fun problem-solving elements of mini golf without being filled with annoying loud colors or taking too long to load.

The gameplay is what you’d expect with a game about putting a ball, but it does score well for its simple and intuitive method for controlling the power of your stroke- you simply move the mouse until the “bubbles” point the direction you want the ball to go and the power you want to hit with, and click. Very simple.

This is not a resource-demanding game, so there isn’t much to worry about in terms of load time or stability. Overall, a simple fun game that’s worth a couple minutes playing time.

Ederon Online is one of the most well developed and good looking flash games this author has seen. The graphics, sound, and music were all amazing for a flash game and really approach the quality of some vintage stand-alone software titles.

The gameplay is typical for a card game, and is somewhat reminiscent of Magic the Gathering. Both players alternate laying out offensive and defensive cards along with unique special ability cards.

Population in the game is good- there always seems to be a multitude of people available to play, even late at night. The menu in the game is clear and easy to navigate, even though it is more complex than that seen in most other flash games. Stability was also excellent- this is a game much-loved by its creator.

Bombators is yet another multiplayer flash rendition of Bomberman. It differs from the original game by including increased player speed and the ability to buy power ups rather than only collecting them as you destroy blocks in the game.

The graphics and animations are nothing to write home about but they get the job done. Several instances of lag and at least one disconnection over a 10 minute play period were noticed. The browser also needed to be refreshed once initially to get the game to display.

Finding players wasn’t difficult, but be prepared for a difficult starting game! You start a game in progress with no power ups against players who’ve often been collecting power ups for a while, so be prepared for some stiff competition.

If you’ve ever played Worms, then you know roughly what to expect here. Territory War features multiple weapons and fast, turn-based fighting across varied side scrolling maps. Just make sure to actually read the directions- the controls are simple, but are a little different than what you might expect.

Graphics are about par for the current generation of flash-based games. The stickman-like tumbling effect of your opponent’s men as you grenade, boot, pickaxe, and bazooka them doesn’t just add to the visual fun- land that grenade or bazooka shot just right and you’ll be rewarded with the satisfaction of watching your opponent fly off the map and out of play, even though he still had half a lifebar left- so also be sure to watch where you park your men.

The muliplayer aspect of this game is fantastic- there are always tons of players on and anxious to play. There’s also a neat feature where you can check out an opponents wins/losses just by hovering your mouse over their name in the chat room.

If you’ve ever seen the TV show Battle Bots then you’ll be familiar with robot rage. Players customize their robots with weapons, and fight other players robots to the death, in this arena-style action game.

The graphics are very blocky and lifeless, but players are given the ability to create customized graphics to display on their bots, which balances out. The game itself can also be a bit choppy at times, but not too much that it detracts from gameplay.

There are numerous players available to compete against, and it would seem that most of them take the game, and their bots, very seriously, which is why most of the players are long time repeat visitors.

Ever wondered what a multiplayer version of Asteroids would be like? No? Me either – but this is exactly that. In all honesty its surprisingly more fun than the single player version. In Asteroids players pilot a pixelated space ship equipped with lasers, across a small board, while trying to obtain power-ups to destroy opponents.

Graphics is not the strongpoint of Asteroids. Instead gameplay relies heavily on recreating the classic feeling of one of the first games to grace a computer.

Unfortunately not too many people frequent the game, although there is almost always one or two people to play with.

While the game is actually quite fun initially, it does get a bit repetitive, as there is a limited number of power-ups, and not much content aside from them. Visually it is modest, with cutesy graphics that get the job done.

There are always enough players for a match, however at times it may take a minute to find 3 opponents.
