Dofus is hard to place in one specific category. It is a mix of Adventure, Roleplay, and Strategy, which results in a unique and very interesting game. The combat system is reminiscent of “Final Fantasy Tactics” or even the “Ogre Battle” series. Gameplay outside of combat is focused more on exploration.
With its attractive cell-shaded graphics, and smooth networking capabilities, Dofus is an excellent example of the potential of multiplayer flash gaming. Unfortunately there are some rather frustrating limitations of control over the movement of the character. While this definitely takes away from functionality, it does not take away from gameplay.
